Residential Park & Leisure Home Structural Warranty

The Platinum Seal Warranty Scheme is the longest running 'Insured' Residential Park and Leisure Home Manufacturers Structural Warranty Scheme within the Park Home Industry. Platinum Seal insured cover provides a similar form of cover that is more commonly associated to a conventional bricks and mortar home.

All homes covered by Platinum Seal are insured for a wide range of structural defects that could occur during the first 10 years after manufacture. This means structural faults that occur during this period will be taken care of with the minimum of fuss providing purchasers of new Residential Park Homes with total peace of mind in the quality and durability of Residential Park Homes. Platinum Seal cover is only available from selected Platinum Seal 'Approved' Manufacturers. In addition, should your manufacturer not be around to help in the future, the insurers of Platinum Seal could (subject to cover provided) fulfill the obligations of your manufacturer.

Who Is Platinum Seal?

Platinum Seal has been providing specialist insured protection for Residential Park and Leisure Homes since 2005 covering over £40million worth of Park and Leisure Homes manufactured, but is only available to a select group of manufacturers. The Platinum Seal scheme is underwritten by Assist Insurance Company Ltd and you should see this as an endorsement from the insurer on the quality and reputation of the Platinum Seal ‘Approved’ manufacturer. Unlike any other scheme, Platinum Seal provides insured protection for Residential Park and Leisure Homes (excluding fleet hire and homes used for commercial use). All homes must be built to the approved residential standard of BS3632 (a separate product is available for homes built to EN1647 standards). Additional terms and conditions may also apply.

Why Do I Need A Warranty?
Although important, it's not just to do with making sure your home is protected against structural defects as a structural defect can be expensive to repair, and without this cover it is likely that your manufacturer is only responsible for such defects for the first 12 months of you owning the home, but also if you decide to sell your home before your warranty expires, a Platinum Seal Warranty will make your property more attractive to buyers giving you a real competitive advantage in what is a highly competitive market.

Don’t All Manufacturers Provide This Form Of Cover?
Unfortunately no, Platinum Seal is only available from selected manufacturers and is available on all homes, on all parks throughout the UK and Europe, whereas other schemes are only available on a restricted number of parks regardless as to whether the manufacturer provides a warranty. We strongly recommend that if you are looking to purchase a park or leisure home from a non Platinum Seal approved manufacturer you should ensure that the home will have a 10 year insured structural warranty once it is sited on the park of your choice.

What Cover Will I Receive With Platinum Seal?
Comparing the cover provided by different manufacturers is crucial as part of deciding which manufacturer you choose to provide your park or leisure home, after all this will be one of the largest investments you make for many years, so rather than summarise the excellent cover provided by the scheme, we will be happy to arrange for a Platinum Seal Brochure to be sent to you, alternatively a specimen policy to be sent. You can also obtain this by visiting the insurers website at www.platinumseal.co.uk where you can download a specimen policy wording.
