1st June 2012 - Barcelona Bangers Challenge

Dennis Hopkins of Eden Valley Holiday Park, Cornwall and Richard Hall are taking on the Barcelona Bangers Challenge as a way to raise funds for Help for Heroes.  Most people, will be aware of the incredible work they do to help and assist our wonderful armed services personnel who suffer the misfortune of being injured whilst doing their job in protecting others.

Their challenge is to drive from Calais to Barcelona over a three day period starting 1st June 1012, in a car which costs no more than £250.

They have the car and the willingness to take up the challenge.  They now need sponsors, such as yourself, to help us make it a profitable journey for the charity.

No money from donations will be used to fund the challenge.

Prestige Park & Leisure Homes will be working alongside Chesil Vista Holiday Park to host its 2012 Caravan and Lodge Show on Saturday 21st-22nd April, from 10am-4pm.

20th February 2012 - PRESTIGE HELPS 60 YEAR OLD PARK CELEBRATE DIAMOND JUBILEE IN STYLE WITH SPECIAL EDITION HOME 

A Lincolnshire residential park is celebrating the Diamond Jubilee and 60 years in business with the launch of a fabulous new ‘Diamond Edition’ park home. 

Prestige has teamed up with Beckhead Park, a family run park in North Hykeham, to design the home as a stylish celebration of their 60 years in business. 

The park has been in the Carlisle family since early 1952, and in that time has been run by three generations of the family; grandfather Jack, his son Malcolm born in April 1952 just after his parents arrived, and now his son John and wife Susanne who run the park today.  John says: “We wanted to do something really special to mark the Jubilee.  When you think about it, it’s quite an astonishing achievement – the Queen’s accession happened when my grandparents were moving here and we can see through the park how much lifestyles have changed in that time.”

Sixty years ago the land was a farm smallholding. The town of North Hykeham was vastly different to how it is now and the park was virtually in the countryside. Since then it has experienced considerable growth which changed way the land has been used over the years.  As farming became more and more challenging John’s grandfather Jack, also known as John, changed its use to permit caravans on the land to accommodate road contractors working on road networks in the area. Gradually it thrived and grew, and the family decided it was working well as the way forward.

The park has continued to develop and evolve over the years, benefiting from demand in the rapidly growing residential park home market. The caravans have long since been replaced by park homes which feel more like luxury bungalows, providing a great option for the retired and semi-retired to downsize to which often releases equity to live on making retirement more financially comfortable too.

Current owner John Carlisle comments; “The quality of these homes is phenomenal and in recent years they have become more and more luxurious. The concept really challenges the bricks and mortar alternatives and their prices when you consider that it also offers the chance to live in a like-minded community where it’s peaceful and secure too. We have a great park with friendly residents here and that’s something we’re very proud of. When you think back to the caravans we had here 60 years ago they really couldn’t be more different.”
